Effective October 1, 2025

Nevada expanded Medigap access for qualifying people under 65.

The current law applies to people under 65 who are eligible for and enrolled in Medicare based on disability or end-stage renal disease.

Policies that must be offered

NRS 687B.351 requires an insurer that offers any Medicare Supplement policy in Nevada to allow a qualifying person under 65 to purchase any Medicare Supplement policy that the insurer offers to new insureds age 65 or older. This means Plan G may be available where the insurer offers Plan G to new insureds age 65 or older. It does not mean every insurer sells Plan G or that every applicant is within an applicable enrollment or guaranteed-issue period.

Initial six-month period

The insurer must provide an open enrollment period beginning on the first day of the first month the person enrolled in Medicare Part B and continuing for at least six months.

Premium limits

For standardized Plans A, B, or D, the premium may not exceed what the insurer would charge a person exactly age 65 for the same policy. For other standardized plans, including Plan G, the premium may not exceed 200 percent of the rate the insurer would charge a person exactly age 65 for the same policy.

Important limitation

The special transition enrollment period for certain people who were already enrolled in Part B as of October 1, 2025 ran through April 1, 2026. That transition window has ended. Other open-enrollment or guaranteed-issue rights may still apply depending on the facts.
